Dan Rubin, PsyD

I work with young children and adolescents (ages 4-17), couples, families, and adults. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, stress, ADD/ADHD, grief, substance abuse, and issues related to difficult relationships, creativity, illness and pain, cultural and sexual identity, and physical disability. I also teach workshops on mindfulness for stress reduction, mindfulness and parenting, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy.

Over the last ten years, I have worked in a wide range of mental health care settings, including psychiatric hospitals, college counseling centers, special education schools, community outpatient clinics, medical hospitals, and private practice. Since 1996, I have been studying and practicing Buddhist meditation, primarily in the Tibetan Buddhist traditions. In 2007, I graduated with a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. I am the assistant director of Portland Mindfulness Therapy and have been with the practice since 2009.
