Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) class scheduled to begin February 2011!
We are pleased to offer an opportunity to participate in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), an empirically proven program with numerous benefits for health and mental health. Graduates of MBSR programs report an increased ability to respond effectively to illness, stress, and pain. They also report an increased ability to relax, and a greater energy and enthusiasm for life. MBSR can be beneficial for any and all of the following:
- Stress — job, family or financial
- Chronic pain and illness
- Anxiety and panic
- GI distress
- Sleep disturbances
- Fatigue
- High blood pressure
- Headaches
The course schedule consists of eight weekly classes and one day-long class on a Saturday. This highly participatory, practical course includes:
- Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices
- Gentle stretching and mindful yoga
- Group dialogue and discussions aimed at enhancing awareness in everyday life
- Individually tailored instruction
- Daily home assignments
- Four home practice CDs and a home practice manual
